CheapHeatingOil.com is an independent price comparison and information service for residential heating oil in the Northeast United States. We are not a heating oil dealer, broker, or supplier. We do not sell heating oil, arrange deliveries, or act as an intermediary between consumers and dealers. All prices and dealer listings are provided for reference and informational purposes only. No accuracy is guaranteed. Call a dealer if you want current, accurate prices and quotes.
2. Accuracy of Price Information
Prices displayed on this site are estimates compiled from EIA weekly survey data, NYSERDA regional data, and dealer-submitted prices. They are provided for general informational and comparison purposes only and do not represent a binding offer or quote from any dealer.
Actual prices vary by dealer, location, order volume, service plan, payment method, and current market conditions. Always contact your dealer directly for a confirmed price before ordering. CheapHeatingOil.com accepts no liability for any price discrepancy between this site and what a dealer charges you.
3. Dealer Listings
Inclusion in our dealer directory does not constitute an endorsement of any dealer. We do not verify the licensing, insurance, or operational status of listed dealers. You are responsible for independently verifying that any dealer you contact is properly licensed and insured in your state.
4. Price Alerts
Price alerts are based on EIA and dealer-submitted data and carry the same accuracy limitations. Receipt of a price alert does not guarantee any dealer will honor the indicated price. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the price alert service at any time.
5. No Transactional Relationship
We are not party to any transaction between you and a heating oil dealer. Any agreement, dispute, or issue arising from a purchase is solely between you and the dealer. We have no responsibility for the outcome of any transaction.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CheapHeatingOil.com shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site, any inaccuracy in price or dealer information, any transaction entered into based on site information, or any interruption or termination of the site. This site is for informational and entertainment purposes only. No Guarantees of accuracy are inferred.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
This website and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this site — including text, graphics, logos, dealer listings, pricing data, price compilations, homeowner-reported quotes, market data, ratings, geographic data, and software — is the proprietary property of CheapHeatingOil.com, protected by U.S. copyright law, the “hot news” misappropriation doctrine, and applicable database protection laws. The compilation, verification, normalization, and ongoing maintenance of this data represents substantial investment of time, labor, and capital.
You may use content for personal, non-commercial reference only. You may not reproduce, republish, redistribute, mirror, sell, license, or incorporate any content into another product or database without our express prior written permission.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You expressly agree NOT to:
(a) Scrape, crawl, harvest, extract, copy, index, cache, mirror, or systematically access any portion of this site — including dealer listings, prices, contact information, ratings, or homeowner quotes — by any automated, semi-automated, or manual means, for any commercial, competitive, redistributive, or database-building purpose;
(b) Use any robot, spider, scraper, headless browser, AI agent, data-extraction tool, or automated script to access the site for the purposes described in (a);
(c) Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any rate-limiting, access-control, bot-detection, or security feature of the site;
(d) Use the site, its data, or any derivative thereof to build, train, populate, supplement, enrich, or update any competing directory, price index, lead-generation database, or commercial dataset;
(e) Submit false, misleading, or automated form submissions, including fake prices or dealer claims;
(f) Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice;
(g) Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
Permitted exceptions: (i) Standard search engine crawlers (Googlebot, Bingbot, etc.) indexing the site for public search results; (ii) AI training crawlers that respect our robots.txt and llms.txt directives; (iii) Personal, non-commercial viewing in a standard web browser; (iv) Parties with prior written authorization from CheapHeatingOil.com.
9A. Liquidated Damages for Unauthorized Data Extraction
You acknowledge that (i) the dealer listings, prices, and related data on this site are the result of substantial investment in acquisition, verification, normalization, geocoding, and ongoing maintenance; (ii) actual damages from unauthorized extraction are inherently difficult to calculate because they include lost competitive advantage, devaluation of the compilation, dilution of data exclusivity, costs of detection and enforcement, and harm to relationships with listed dealers and data partners; and (iii) the amounts below represent a reasonable, good-faith estimate of those damages, not a penalty.
By accessing this site through any automated, semi-automated, or systematic means in violation of Section 9, you expressly agree to pay CheapHeatingOil.com the following liquidated damages:
- $10.00 USD for each dealer record scraped, copied, extracted, accessed, or otherwise collected without authorization;
- $10.00 USD for each price data point (including but not limited to per-gallon prices, historical prices, homeowner-reported quotes, EIA-derived figures, and ratings) scraped, copied, extracted, accessed, or otherwise collected without authorization;
- $10.00 USD for each contact data point (phone, email, address, website URL, service area) scraped, copied, extracted, accessed, or otherwise collected without authorization.
Each access event is a separate and cumulative event. Re-scraping the same dealer or price on a different date, hour, or session constitutes a new event subject to a new fee. Caching, redistribution, or use in a derivative database constitutes additional separate events. Damages accumulate without cap.
In addition to liquidated damages, you agree to pay all costs of enforcement, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, investigator fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. CheapHeatingOil.com further reserves all rights to seek injunctive relief, statutory damages under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. § 1030), the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 1201), state computer-trespass and unfair-competition statutes, and common-law misappropriation, with the liquidated damages above being non-exclusive of other remedies.
Your continued access to the site after notice of these Terms — including via the site footer link, the /terms URL, the homepage banner, or the robots.txt reference — constitutes acceptance of this provision. You may not access this site if you do not agree.
10. Dealer Terms
Dealers who register on this site agree to provide accurate business information, submit only prices that reflect their actual current per-gallon price, and maintain proper licensing and insurance. We reserve the right to remove any dealer listing at our sole discretion.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the state and federal courts located in Worcester County, Massachusetts, for any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the site. You waive any objection to such venue.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
